Iron casting workshop “Kavar”

The visit to this workshop will take you back to the days when this particular craft was developed and held in high esteem in the Renaissance period.
A number of replicas of traditional pieces as well as products of modern design have been made, all of which are exhibited in the gallery right next to the workshop.
The photographic exhibition clearly shows different stages of work and you will be able to observe the phase that is in making during your visit.
The master will guide you through the history of the iron casting tradition in the area and you will learn the legend about how the town of Tržič developed, a legend of a dragon hatched out of a cockerel’s egg.
